Appreciating Our Heroes Of The Day
While we're amazed by the success of our Month of Giving, we know how important it is to continue to support the brave frontline workers who persist day in and day out: the Heroes of the Day.
These days we call these heroes “essential workers.” Whether you’re a first responder, healthcare worker, food bank volunteer, grocer, truck or food delivery driver, or restaurant worker - people are performing selfless acts to keep us safe and healthy and to keep our lives as normal as possible during this abnormal time. And some of them even like their music heavy!!
Back in April, we received the below message from a new friend of the Foundation, Dr. Ben.
Big Metallica fan and philanthropist - I'm on the front lines of COVID-19 and developing treatments. But perhaps most importantly, doing community and public health outreach to keep the people up to date and informed.
I've taken inspiration from the many times I've seen you, and realizing that you haven't 'needed' to tour for decades. You do it because you have a drive to persist, and you also draw energy from the fans. You've never let your own fatigue show, and nor shall I.
Until we see each other again, stay safe all.
Dr. Ben's note inspired us. We KNOW there are many more members of the Metallica Family around the world doing critical work. We want to get to know and honor them.
If you or someone you know loves Metallica and is an essential worker, share your story! We want to join you in appreciating the selfless, hardworking Heroes of the Day.
Share a photo on Instagram using #HeroesOfTheDay and tell us about yourself or someone you know who loves Metallica and is on the front lines and we’ll make sure to thank them!
