Look What We Accomplished Together This Year!

DECEMBER 19, 2023

This past year has been an incredible one for All Within My Hands. We jumped at the opportunity to expand our giving and reaffirm our commitment to our charitable partners. And we got to enjoy some much-needed camaraderie courtesy of the M72 World Tour. While we reflect on 2023, we’re even more inspired to hit the ground running in 2024.

Won’t you join us on a little trip down memory lane as we revisit all we accomplished together this year? Get comfortable; we’ve got a lot to share!

Together We Raised Over $350,000!

Month of Giving 2023 was all about The Farmlink Project, a national organization connecting farmers to food banks, delivering millions of pounds of farm fresh produce that would otherwise go to waste to feed families in need. Since launching in 2020, Farmlink has moved over 130,000,000 lbs of food, prevented over 195,450 tons of CO2 emissions, and delivered over 108,000,000 meals through its network of volunteers, partners, and staff.

#MetallicaGivesBack On Tour

With the launch of the M72 World Tour, Metallica and AWMH continued the legacy of leaving a gift behind in each area the tour visited. It has always been important to the band to give back to the communities that have given them so much. That’s why a portion of all ticket sales for every show gets donated to organizations fulfilling local needs. Between runs in Europe and North America, together with the band, we granted $720,000 to organizations combatting hunger and $420,000 to organizations providing critical local services.

Workforce Education: Metallica Scholars

2023 marked the fifth year of the Metallica Scholars Initiative, which now has a presence in 42 schools across 33 states. To date, the program has supported over 6,000 hard-working students as they prepare themselves for rewarding, sustainable careers. With 11 new schools featuring more than 40 different areas of study funded, we'd say year five has been a success!

The Fight Against Hunger

In times of crisis, and equally in everyday life, access to food can be an overlooked challenge. Along with our partnership with The Farmlink Project and donations to local food banks, we continued to partner with World Central Kitchen. WCK is consistently the first to the frontlines, providing fresh meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises.

Critical Local Services

From natural disasters, including floods, tornadoes, and wildfires, to community shelters supporting women and children experiencing homelessness and domestic violence, the need to fund emergency services never runs out. That is why AWMH is committed to supporting local and global communities in times of crisis.

From old friends to new ones, it helps to have supporters in high places! Meet some of the corporations committed to helping us further our mission.

The Launch Of The Guitar Bar

In September, we announced our newest partnership, which was as delicious as it was charitable. The health-conscious ice cream company Enlightened created an AWMH and Metallica-inspired, guitar-shaped ice cream bar to raise awareness and funds for the fight against hunger.

The Return Of Wolverine

November marked our fourth year collaborating with one of our longest-standing partners: Wolverine Boots & Apparel. Each year, the workwear brand creates something unique to support our Metallica Scholars, and this year, they took things up a notch with a limited-edition sneaker featuring debossed custom skull artwork designed by Brandon Heart.

Sponsors are invaluable, but individuals are at the core of AWMH. The Metallica Family empowers us to thrive and make a lasting impact. Your dollars, your time, and your voice have helped us reach new heights this year!

Giving back means more than just money, and we saw that in action in an awesome way on the M72 World Tour. Seven food banks across five states and two countries hosted official volunteering events this year. At these events, a total of 205 volunteers packed an incredible 141,000 lbs of food! We continue to be inspired by the Metallica Family members who selflessly show up for the benefit of others and, in turn, have a fun and memorable experience themselves.

We Receive An Average Of $2 Per Donation

Have you ever heard the term “every dollar counts” and thought, “Yeah, sure it does”? Well, we’re here to tell you just how true that is!

This year, we granted literally millions of dollars. How did we get there?

Yes, we are incredibly lucky to have the support of a few philanthropists who can afford to donate thousands at a time. But we are equally fortunate to have droves of Metallica fans turned AWMH supporters who give just a few cents at a time when they round up their order totals while shopping in the band’s merch store. Add to those groups the additional donors who contribute every amount in between, and now you know the secrets to our success.

Every dollar, every cent, every transaction allows us to effect change. So next time you’ve got $2 burning a hole in your pocket, consider sharing it with AWMH, and we’ll use it to improve the lives of people in need!

End-Of-Year Giving

With 2024 less than two weeks away, have you made your tax-deductible gift yet? If not, what are you waiting for?

We know there are several worthy organizations out there, and it can be overwhelming to know where to start. If there is a particular cause out there that speaks to your heart, follow that call! If you’re looking for some guidance, consider donating to All Within My Hands.

We meticulously vet all our donation recipients and don’t use a penny of your gift for expenses. All of the Foundation’s operating costs are 100% covered by Metallica. That means you can give confidently, knowing your contribution will reach the people who genuinely need assistance.

Take Advantage Of Corporate Matching

Want to make your donation go further? Many companies offer corporate matching programs that match contributions made by their employees to nonprofit organizations, generally at a 1:1 ratio, but some will match at a 2:1, 3:1, or even a 4:1 ratio!

Does your employer match charitable donations? If so, all you need to do to double your impact is let your employer know the amount you've given, request a match, and tell them that your gift went to All Within My Hands (EIN: 81-4258668).

What Does It All Amount To?

When it comes down to it, all these facts and figures combine to create one thing: GRATITUDE.

We’re so grateful to be in a position to make a difference, that we have supporters like YOU to help us take a brand new foundation and grow it into a success story in just a few years, and that together, our community is creating a sustainable avenue for positive change.
