Local Chapter Fundraising Competition

The highlight of Month of Giving is back again. We’re excited to see what local chapters of the Metallica Fan Club will accomplish in their friendly competition after raising a staggering $87.6K last year!
Just as before, fan club members will compete to raise the most money for AWMH, with the winner claiming bragging rights and amazing prizes. Whether you're a member of a local chapter or not, find the group you want to support and help them positively impact tomorrow's workforce!
We know this year will make a splash because Terreno Realty Corporation has committed to matching $50,000 raised by this competition! Workforce education resonates with Terreno Realty Corporation's leadership team, and they were inspired to join this campaign upon learning about Metallica Scholars Initiative and its new Special Projects Fund.
The Competition
Thank you so much to all the chapters that have signed up to participate in our 2025 Month of Giving fundraising competition!
All funds raised will go to the Metallica Scholars Initiative Special Projects Fund, which will empower our partner schools to develop newer and more robust courses within their career and technical education (CTE) programs.
This year, we are doing things a little differently and using our donation platform's (Kindful) Crowdfunding feature. The chapter heads that registered to participate were sent instructions to set up their team's page, so if you don't see your chapter yet, be patient as they work through this new process. If your chapter hasn't signed up, encourage your chapter head to do so!
If at any point during the fundraising contest (beginning on May 1, 2025) you’d like to participate on behalf of a Local Chapter but don’t see your chapter listed, don’t worry! Simply visit our "Month of Giving 2025" campaign and write in your chapter’s name on the following page in the field under “Dedicate this Donation in Honor or Memory of Someone.” But please note: All write-in donations will be tallied and added to the leaderboard at the conclusion of the competition.
The Prizes
Just like in previous years, there will be TWO winners in this competition: the chapter raising the most money and a randomly selected chapter drawn from all participants.
The Grand Prize will be awarded to the chapter that raises the most money and will consist of:
- (2) two weekend passes to the M72 World Tour stop of their choice
- A Merch Pack from The Met Store
- An autographed drumhead
- Additional surprise prizes
The Second Prize will be awarded to a chapter randomly selected from all participants. As long as you make a donation of any amount, you will qualify for this prize consisting of:
- A Merch Pack from The Met Store
- An autographed drumhead
- Additional surprise prizes
*Items designated as "autographed" are signed by all four members of Metallica (James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo).
**Prizes will be distributed to Chapter Members at the discretion of Chapter Heads.
The Leaderboard
The leaderboard will be updated once a day, Monday-Friday, during May.
The leaderboard was updated at 4:30 PM PT on Monday, May 12. The next update will happen on Tuesday, May 13.

Only donations made directly to the Local Chapter Crowdfunding Team Pages will be included in the updates. All "write-in" donations and corporate matches will be tallied at the end of the month and added to the final totals.
