#MetallicaGivesBack in Budapest

Fighting Hunger & Supporting Critical Local Services

JUNE 16, 2026

Beginning the second half of the 2026 M72 European summer tour, Metallica’s shows at Puskás Aréna allowed us to bring the #MetallicaGivesBack campaign to Budapest. With support from Live Nation and all fans in attendance during the No Repeat Weekend, Metallica and AWMH made grants to two local non-profit organizations: Budapest Bike Mafia and NANE Association.

For over 15 years, the non-profit organization Budapest Bike Mafia has been supporting people in need. What started as bike deliveries of sandwiches and blankets to people living on the streets has grown to meal preparation, food rescue, and many programs to support children and families through community-driven initiatives. Hands-on support remains a core part of the organization's work through the Vitamin Kommandó program. Volunteers go out into the community by bike twice a week to distribute food, vitamins, and essential supplies, creating experiences and restoring dignity for people living in difficult circumstances. Their mission is not only to help, but to build bridges between people and inspire a more caring and inclusive society.

Along with a volunteer event at their farm, we invited Budapest Bike Mafia to support food rescue at Puskás Aréna. By the end of the weekend, they had contributed more than 1,600 meals: rescuing approximately 1,100 meals after the concerts and preparing 400 sandwiches and 100 hot meals for people in need at their Farm with Metallica Family volunteers! Massive thanks to Local Chapter Czechoslovak Fangs #566 for being among the 40 international Metallica fans at the Farm. Budapest Bike Mafia is receiving 6.000.000 HUF.

NANE Association works to improve the lives of victims of violence against women and to help build a world free from such abuse. Using a professionally grounded, feminist, and trauma-focused approach, the Association provides emotional, psychological, and informational support directly to those affected, while placing their rights and needs at the center of its work. Our 6.000.000 HUF grant will provide essential support for the continuation and stability of NANE’s work. Flexible funding like ours is particularly important, as it allows the Association to respond to emerging needs, maintain core activities, and continue providing support to victims of violence against women without interruption. Our donation will contribute to the operational and professional capacities necessary to sustain NANE Associations' activities, including direct support services, prevention and awareness-raising programs, professional training, advocacy work, and the coordination of volunteers and staff who bring hope to thousands of women each year.
