Fighting Hunger & Supporting Critical Local Services

All Within My Hands’ #MetallicaGivesBack campaign continues to make its way across Europe! With support from Live Nation and the fans who attended the Deutsche Bank Park shows, Metallica and AWMH are providing grants to two local nonprofit organizations in conjunction with the band’s M72 World Tour stop in Frankfurt: Frankfurter Tafel and Frankfurter Verein.

Frankfurter Tafel’s primary mission is to collect food that supermarkets, restaurants, wholesalers, and other food suppliers cannot sell but is still edible and safe, and to distribute it to those in need. The organization uses donations like ours to cover day-to-day operational costs, including operating vehicles, purchasing diesel, and paying for energy at cold storage facilities, among other things. About 95% of the food distribution work is done by volunteers, who collect, sort, and deliver to distribution points throughout the city. There, people facing financial hardship can pick up food and other essential supplies. This approach not only helps reduce food waste but also provides a reliable source of food for people in precarious economic circumstances. Frankfurter Tafel will receive €20.000.
Special thanks to the members of St. Germany, the local Metallica Fan Club Chapter, who donated their time for a shift at Frankfurter Tafel. These dedicated members of the Metallica Family are also currently in third place in our Month of Giving Fundraising Competition!
The Frankfurter Verein was founded in 1910 and provides critical local services to nearly 4500 people in Frankfurt every day, across 50 facilities. The association cares for people who have complex problems and aims to strengthen the independence of unhoused people, people with mental health conditions, and women in crisis. The women are often in life-threatening emergency situations and usually have nothing left. Our donation of €20.000 enables Frankfurter Verein to support those women and their children with daily necessities and medical assistance.
