#MetallicaGivesBack in Glasgow

Fighting Hunger & Supporting Critical Local Services

JUNE 30, 2026

Metallica’s show at Hampden Park allowed us to bring the #MetallicaGivesBack campaign to Glasgow. With support from Live Nation and all fans in attendance, Metallica and AWMH made grants to two local non-profit organizations: Glasgow SE Food Bank and Hemat Gryffe Women's Aid.

Glasgow SE Foodbank exists to support people facing food insecurity in southeast Glasgow and the wider city and region. Until the time comes when no one needs a foodbank to survive, Glasgow SE Foodbank provides emergency food and practical support for people left without enough money to live on. Roughly 6,500 people in Glasgow will need to be fed this year, and sadly, 40% of those who are hungry are children. Our £20K donation will directly cover some of the cost of the food and other essentials for those in need.

Special thanks to the Metallica fans from Denmark, Northern Ireland, and Scotland for lending a hand and volunteering at the foodbank!

Hemat Gryffe Women's Aid supports women, children, and young people affected by domestic abuse, forced marriage, and honour-based abuse. Their goal is to provide culturally sensitive bilingual crisis, community, and refuge accommodation primarily to women, children, and young people from Asian, Black, and Minority Ethnic communities in Glasgow. Our £20K will have a huge impact as Hemat Gryffe Women's Aid provides culturally informed, trauma-aware support to people who often face additional barriers when seeking help, including language, immigration status, racism, and isolation. Our grant will strengthen the capacity to support women from diverse communities across Glasgow.
