Metallica’s stop in Zurich gave AWMH the opportunity to give back to two important community organizations. In partnership with Live Nation, Metallica and AWMH have chosen Essen für Alle and Stiftung Frauenhaus Zürich each to receive financial support.

At Essen für Alle (Food for All), they believe "Niemand soll in der Schweiz an Hunger leiden!" (in English: "No one in Switzerland should go hungry!"). As a 100% volunteer organization, Essen für Alle is supported solely by donations. With five locations in Switzerland, around 200 volunteers gather every Saturday to hand out roughly 30 tons of food, serving over 2,000 families or individuals per week. The food the organization distributes has been rescued from disposal by collection from supermarket distributors. While the food collection may be free of charge, the organization still incurs costs: transportation, rent, and supplementary products like rice and oil create financial challenges for an organization that relies entirely on donations. Essen für Alle is receiving €20K to help keep food on the table for struggling families in Zurich.
Stiftung Frauenhaus Zürich (Zurich Women's Shelter Foundation) has been committed to supporting women and their children affected by violence for 45 years. In addition to operating the Zurich Violetta Women's Shelter and the Vista Nova aftercare program, the organization is also active in prevention and education. The specialist agency provides information about domestic violence, conducts public awareness campaigns, offers presentations on the topic, and is active in the political and social sphere to improve the situation of women and their children affected by violence, especially migrant women. Stiftung Frauenhaus Zürich will use our €20K grant to support women and children directly affected by domestic violence who are staying at our women's shelter, funding children's activities, daily support, and childcare, along with everyday expenses not covered by victim assistance, such as sports activities, taxi rides, and legal fees.
