Fighting Hunger & Supporting Critical Local Services
NOVEMBER 20, 2025
Metallica’s gig at Eden Park allowed AWMH the opportunity to give back to two non-profits doing incredible work in the Auckland community. In partnership with Live Nation New Zealand and CNH Industrial, Metallica and AWMH have chosen one local organization combating food insecurity and one providing critical local services. Receiving funds in Auckland are Meet the Need and Auckland Women’s Centre.

Meet the Need is a farmer-founded and farmer-led charity working to ensure a consistent supply of nutritious protein to those affected by food insecurity by connecting quality nutritious protein grown by New Zealand farming communities to those who need a helping hand. Along with our donation, CNH Industrial is also contributing to Meet the Need, making the total grant NZD$40,000.
Special thanks to our Metallica Family volunteers who donated their time for a shift at Meet the Need, where they packed 1,022 food parcels - 12.8 tonnes of essential kai (food) for families in need. Meet the Need ambassador Ben Purua and Kiwi rugby legend Sir Michael Jones, along with his wife, Maliena Jones, joined the group’s effort, coming together to fight food insecurity in Aotearoa.
The Auckland Women’s Centre facilitates empowerment and well-being for all women, envisioning a society where all wāhine and women are well-resourced and empowered within their communities to achieve equity, safety, and well-being. Auckland Women’s Centre is receiving NZD$20,000.
