#MetallicaGivesBack in London

Fighting Hunger & Supporting Critical Local Services

JULY 7, 2026

This past weekend, Metallica wrapped up the 2026 European leg of the M72 World Tour with two gigs in London, allowing AWMH the opportunity to give back to two vital community organizations. With support from Live Nation and the fans who attended the shows at London Stadium, Metallica and AWMH are providing grants to two local nonprofit organizations: Bow Food Bank and Aanchal Women’s Aid.

Bow Food Bank is a community-led solution committed to building resilient, connected communities whilst eradicating food insecurity in Tower Hamlets. The non-profit invests heavily in supporting its guests beyond food. Our £40,000 grant will allow the organization to fund the salary of our lead advice worker (currently unfunded), a role that ensures foodbank guests have access to a wide range of support, from mental health support to gas and electricity vouchers and digital inclusion sessions. The role also carries out and coordinates casework for our most vulnerable guests, allowing the organization to increase individuals' benefits by an average of £16,000 per annum per household, as well as preventing people from becoming homeless, helping them find social connections, and building their financial resilience.

Special thanks to our friends from CNH and the Metallica Family members who donated their time for a volunteer shift at Bow Food Bank on Friday before the first show!

Aanchal Women’s Aid exists to provide a safe, supportive space for women, children, and families affected by domestic abuse to find hope, rebuild lives, and know that they matter. Each year, Aanchal Women’s Aid supports nearly 170 children and young people aged 5 to 17 who have been affected by domestic abuse, trauma, family conflict, and emotional hardship. Through one-to-one support, therapeutic interventions, and programs such as Healing Together, young people are given safe, empowering spaces to explore their emotions and begin rebuilding their confidence and trust. Despite the growing need, the children and young people’s project has not received dedicated funding for the past three years. Our £40,000 grant to Aanchal Women’s Aid will help ensure vulnerable children and families receive early intervention and culturally sensitive support at a critical time in their lives, helping them move from crisis toward safety, healing, and hope for the future.
