Fighting Hunger & Supporting Critical Local Services
NOVEMBER 4, 2025
Metallica’s gig at Optus Stadium allowed AWMH and the Metallica fans the opportunity to give back to the community in many ways. In partnership with Live Nation Australia, Metallica and AWMH have chosen to grant financial support to two nonprofit organizations that are doing incredible work to feed people and provide critical local services in times of need. We’ll be doing this on every M72 stop, and we are inspired to share what these local heroes do every day.

Foodbank WA provides food and groceries to those who struggle to afford them, delivers nutrition education to promote healthy eating habits, and advocates on behalf of people experiencing food insecurity. Foodbank WA can provide two meals with every dollar donated. Following Metallica’s visit to Optus Stadium, they are receiving AUD$20,000.
"The funds will be used to extend our in-person Emergency Relief Food Assistance Support service from 3 to 5 days a week at our main operation centre in Perth. Households requiring our food relief service need to be referred and this Emergency Relief service is the first step to ensuring clients facing hardship and food insecurity feel welcome and supported. The service also provides introductions to Financial counsellors, Utility Bill support and many more add-on services. On average this personalised service supports 20 families a day and helps them through what can be a very stressful situation they find themselves in."

Special thanks to our Metallica Family volunteers who donated their time for a shift at Foodbank WA, where they prepared over 800 meals and saved 100kg from landfill in the process. Chie, Shinji, Nabila, Andrei, Jess, and Daniel worked alongside Chef Melissa to prepare 400 large roast dinners, 400 large sausage casseroles, Korean BBQ beef and rice, and some smaller bangers and mash meals. These dedicated AWMH supporters came from near and far to share their love of Metallica and help feed people in need.

Our first blood drive with Australian Red Cross Lifeblood has been a resounding success! The opening weekend set the tone as Perth Centre’s best-ever Saturday and Sunday collections on record, with 212 donations right off the bat. Massive thanks to all the donors who have rolled up their sleeves to help us save lives in Australia.
