Fighting Hunger & Supporting Critical Local Services
NOVEMBER 10, 2025
Metallica’s gig at Marvel Stadium allowed AWMH the opportunity to give back within the Melbourne community. Once again, in partnership with Live Nation Australia, Metallica and AWMH have chosen local nonprofit organizations to receive grants to support the community M72 visits in the areas of food insecurity and critical local services. Receiving funds in Melbourne are Foodbank Victoria and Safe Steps.

Whether it’s everyday emergencies or in times of crisis, Foodbank Victoria has been providing vital food relief to vulnerable Victorians for over 95 years. Through its network of over 1,200 schools and nearly 500 charities right across Victoria, the organization has distributed over 25 million meals in the last 12 months alone. Right now, the foodbank feeds 69,000 people every single day. Foodbank Victoria is receiving AUD$20,000.
Special thanks to our Metallica Family volunteers who donated their time for a shift at Foodbank Victoria, where they packed 400 hampers of produce and pantry staples, as well as 27 orders for charity partners. That’s more than 10,089 kilos and the equivalent of 20,113 meals for families in need!

Safe Steps is committed to providing immediate, life-saving support to all individuals experiencing family and domestic violence, offering 24/7 assistance to all Victorians in high-risk, crisis situations, ensuring their safety and well-being. Beyond direct support, Safe Steps advocates for long-term change through research, policy development, and public awareness campaigns. The organization’s goal is to address family and domestic violence as it happens and influence the systems and policies that allow it to persist. Safe Steps is receiving AUD$20,000.
Thanks to The Big Umbrella Foundation, a non-profit that creates and serves restaurant quality meals to people experiencing food insecurity and homelessness using rescued food and produce, Metallica's concert at Marvel Stadium was a zero food waste event! The organization's Food Rescue Unit retrieved over 410 kg of fresh produce and frozen food on Sunday—enough to create 700 hot meals this week at Feed Melbourne for people suffering from food insecurity and homelessness.
