#MetallicaGivesBack to Three Local Organizations in Denver

JUNE 30, 2025

Metallica’s final M72 North American Tour stop in Denver allowed AWMH the opportunity to give back within that community. Once again, Metallica and AWMH have chosen local nonprofit organizations to receive grants to support the community M72 visits in the areas of food insecurity and critical local services. Receiving funds in Denver are We Don't Waste, Hunger Free Colorado, and The Gathering Place.

We Don't Waste works to reduce hunger and food waste in the Denver area by recovering quality, unused food from the food industry and delivering it to nonprofit partners, such as food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, schools and daycare programs, and more. The organization increases food access while protecting the planet by rescuing and repurposing food, while educating and advocating to increase food security and decrease food waste. We Don't Waste is receiving $30,000.

Special thanks to our Metallica Family volunteers who donated their time for a shift at We Don't Waste. In just two hours, they helped distribute 35,000 servings of food to 350 families!  Additional thanks to our longtime partners at Carhartt for keeping them cozy and stylish in these exclusive M72 x AWMH Brite Orange Knit Cuffed Beanies.

Hunger Free Colorado connects people to food resources to meet existing needs and drives policy, systems, and social change to end hunger. To meet existing needs, the organization makes it easier for people to access and afford food with dignity. Through caring, knowledgeable staff and partners, Hunger Free Colorado connects people to SNAP and other programs that provide money for groceries, healthy meals for kids year-round, and consistent access to fresh, local foods. Hunger Free Colorado is receiving $20,000.

The Gathering Place provides essential services and holistic, trauma-informed care to women, gender-diverse people, and their children experiencing homelessness or instability. As a low-barrier organization, The Gathering Place removes unnecessary obstacles, ensuring that all who need support can access its comprehensive services—from basic needs like meals and shelter to long-term solutions like housing-focused case management and mental health care. Every member chooses the services they need, empowering them to rebuild their lives on their own terms, and all of our programs are offered free of charge. The Gathering Place is receiving $30,000.
