#MetallicaGivesBack to Three Local Organizations in Landover

MAY 29, 2025

Metallica’s stop in Landover allowed AWMH the opportunity to give back within that community. Once again, Metallica and AWMH have chosen local nonprofit organizations to receive grants to support the community M72 visits in the areas of food insecurity and critical local services. Receiving funds in the Metro DC area are Capital Area Food Bank, Arlington Food Assistance Center, and Thrive DC

Capital Area Food Bank leads the region’s efforts to provide equitable access to food and opportunity to people struggling with hunger and food insecurity. Each year, the food bank sources and distributes food for more than 60 million meals. Together with more than 400 local partners, CAFB is providing the food people need to thrive today, and working with partners to pair food with services that can create permanent pathways out of hunger tomorrow. Along with our donation, Carhartt is also contributing to the food bank, making the total grant $40,000.

Special thanks to our Metallica Family volunteers who donated their time for a shift at Capital Area Food Bank, where they packed 680 boxes containing food to help supplement monthly food needs for elderly members of the community. Additional thanks to our longtime partners at Carhartt for keeping them cozy and stylish in these exclusive M72 x AWMH Brite Orange Knit Cuffed Beanies.

Arlington Food Assistance Center works to provide neighbors in need with dignified access to free, supplemental groceries. With help from their supporters, AFAC can aid residents of Arlington County and the surrounding areas in receiving nutritious food items that not only keep their families fed but also free up their limited financial resources for other necessary purchases. Supplemental groceries from AFAC mean that families can remain in their homes, workers can stay on the job, children are ready to learn, and mothers and babies have the nutrition they need. Arlington Food Assistance Center is receiving $10,000.
