#MetallicaGivesBack to Three Local Organizations in Philadelphia
MAY 27, 2025
Metallica’s stop in Philadelphia allowed AWMH the opportunity to give back within that community. Once again, Metallica and AWMH have chosen local nonprofit organizations to receive grants to support the community M72 visits in the areas of food insecurity and critical local services. Receiving funds in Philadelphia are Philabundance, Sanctuary Farm Phila, and Bethesda Project.

Philabundance is a nonprofit food bank committed to always serving its neighbors in need with dignity and respect. Close to 500,000 people in its nine-county service area face food insecurity and aren’t sure where their next meal will come from. To combat this, Philabundance developed an innovative two-tiered approach consisting of efforts that Relieve Hunger Now and End Hunger for Good, providing necessary support today while working to equip clients with the resources and tools they need to build a more stable and independent future. Along with our donation, Carhartt is also contributing to the food bank, making the total grant $45,000.

Special thanks to our Metallica Family volunteers who donated their time for a shift at Philabundance where they packed over 2,000 breakfast packs that will feed as many local kids. Additional thanks to our longtime partners at Carhartt for keeping them cozy and stylish in these exclusive M72 x AWMH Brite Orange Knit Cuffed Beanies.

Sanctuary Farm Phila is a non-profit organization and urban farm that provides free, fresh, organically grown produce and implements programs that enhance the health and well-being of our community members. Dedicated to tackling the health disparities arising from systemic racial inequality and economic injustices, Sanctuary Farm Phila transforms neglected and abandoned spaces within our community into welcoming, nourishing, and thriving environments that prioritize safety and well-being. Sanctuary Farm Phila is receiving $30,000.

Bethesda Project is a nonprofit organization that provides shelter, housing, and supportive services across 11 locations to adults experiencing homelessness in Philadelphia. The shelter’s guests and residents experience a safe environment — and most importantly — a home where they can stabilize, regain their dignity and self-worth, and find community. Bethesda Project operates a continuum of care throughout Center City Philadelphia, utilizing a Housing First approach that minimizes barriers to access and allows each individual to take their journey of healing at their own pace. Bethesda Project is receiving $25,000.
