#MetallicaGivesBack to Three Local Organizations in Santa Clara
JUNE 23, 2025
Metallica’s stop in Santa Clara allowed AWMH the opportunity to give back within that community. Once again, Metallica and AWMH have chosen local nonprofit organizations to receive grants to support the community M72 visits in the areas of food insecurity and critical local services. Receiving funds in Santa Clara are Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen, Santa Maria Urban Ministry, and Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence.

Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen aims to provide hot and nutritious prepared meals, delivered and served to feed hungry families, children, seniors, veterans, students, and disabled individuals in its Bay Area community. All are welcome, no questions asked. Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen is receiving $30,000.

Special thanks to our Metallica Family volunteers who donated their time for kitchen, garden, and bagging shifts at Loaves & Fishes. In the kitchen, fans helped with the production of the 6,000 meals the organization serves each week to anyone who is hungry, no questions asked. In the organic garden, fans helped pick, wash, and box produce that goes out to hungry neighbors, and tackled a much-needed maintenance project! Finally, fans helped put together more than 200 Medically Tailored Meals grocery bags to distribute to the organization's clients with chronic health conditions. Additional thanks to our longtime partners at Carhartt for keeping them cozy and stylish in these exclusive M72 x AWMH Brite Orange Knit Cuffed Beanies.

Santa Maria Urban Ministry works to feed the body, mind, and spirit of the individuals in its community by providing them with food and other basic services, educational programs for all ages, and opportunities to give back through volunteer service. Santa Maria Urban Ministry is receiving $20,000.

Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence envisions a community environment that breaks the silence, views and treats domestic violence and other forms of gender-based violence as unacceptable, upholds supportive accountability for those who harm, and where survivors and families have the support and resources to achieve the highest quality of life possible. Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence is receiving $30,000.

The Santa Clara stop featured a special bonus component - through their Services Operations program, our friends at Apple gathered volunteers to donate their time and efforts in the name of AWMH.
Ten Apple volunteers worked a 3.5-hour shift at the Santa Maria Urban Ministries Food Pantry, where we helped provide food and clothing packages for 104 households. The volunteers also learned about the pantry's history, the community it serves, and the challenges it faces, sparking ideas for future support.

Apple staff also volunteered across two shifts for the American Red Cross x Metallica #BleedingMe Blood Drive. The volunteers welcomed and directed donors, then provided drinks and snacks post-blood draw. Some of them were even able to donate blood themselves!
Through the Benevity time-matching donation protocol, more than $1500 was donated because of the time these volunteers spent working. Thank you, Apple, for joining us in giving back to the community!
