#MetallicaGivesBack to Two Local Organizations in Atlanta

JUNE 5, 2024

Metallica’s stop in Atlanta allowed AWMH the opportunity to give back within that community. Once again, Metallica and AWMH have chosen local nonprofit organizations to receive grants to support the community M72 visits in the areas of food insecurity and critical local services. Receiving funds in Atlanta are Atlanta Community Food Bank and Our House

Atlanta Community Food Bank is fighting hunger by engaging, educating, and empowering its community. The food bank works with nearly 700 community-based partners—including food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, shelters, and senior centers—to distribute an average of 10.3 million pounds of food each month, or approximately 9 million+ meals to our neighbors who are food insecure in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia. Atlanta Community Food Bank is receiving $25,000.

Special thanks to our Metallica Family volunteers who donated their time for a shift at Atlanta Community Food Bank during which they packed 11,958 lbs. of food, helping build senior food boxes through a USDA program called the Commodity Supplemental Food Program. Additional thanks to our longtime partners at Carhartt for keeping them cozy and stylish in these exclusive M72 x AWMH Brite Orange Knit Cuffed Beanies.

Our House provides a pathway to stability and independence for families experiencing homelessness through access to health care, early childhood education, housing, and employment. The organization’s interrelated programs address the root causes of homelessness and ensure every family that leaves Our House has the tools needed to achieve lasting self-sufficiency. Our House is receiving $25,000.
