#MetallicaGivesBack to Two Local Organizations in Nashville

MAY 5, 2025

Metallica’s stop in Nashville allowed AWMH the opportunity to give back within that community. Once again, Metallica and AWMH have chosen local nonprofit organizations to receive grants to support the community M72 visits in the areas of food insecurity and critical local services. Receiving funds in Nashville are Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee and Room In The Inn

Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee’s mission is to nourish and empower people so they can thrive. Across Middle and West Tennessee, 1 in 8 people experience food insecurity, including 1 in 6 children. At the same time, nearly 40 percent of our country’s food supply ends up in landfills. With your help, Second Harvest can change this by taking in donated surplus food from grocery stores, farmers, and others, diverting the supply from landfills to empower neighbors instead. Along with our donation, Carhartt is also contributing to the food bank, making the total grant $65,000.

Special thanks to our Metallica Family volunteers who donated their time for a shift at Second Harvest, during which they sorted and packed more than 11,200 meals! Additional thanks to our longtime partners at Carhartt for keeping them cozy and stylish in these exclusive M72 x AWMH Brite Orange Knit Cuffed Beanies.

Room In The Inn provides programs emphasizing human development and recovery through education, self-help, and work. Among the vital services offered are Guest House & Recuperative Care and Transitional & Permanent Supportive Housing. The Guest House is often a first step towards recovery, providing an alternative to jail for public intoxication, while providing recuperative care, which includes respite for medically fragile homeless individuals recovering from recent hospitalization, illness, or injury. The shelter’s support coordinators and recovery staff also partner with other agencies to help people on their journey from homelessness into transitional and permanent housing. Room In The Inn is receiving $40,000.
