Ariana - Central Piedmont Community College
As a Metallica Scholars School since 2019, Central Piedmont Community College continues to provide direct support for students enrolled in one of four healthcare career programs: Dental Assisting, Medical Assisting, Ophthalmic Medical Personnel, or Pharmacy Technology.
Our grants are directed to those who need financial assistance to complete their studies and become licensed healthcare professionals. One such student is Ariana, who is practicing for her Associate Degree in Nursing.
"This scholarship has helped me to succeed in the nursing program because it allowed me to help my family financially. Throughout nursing school, my family has always helped me pay for tuition, textbooks, nursing tools, scrubs, and school supplies. As I'm getting close to graduating from the program and CPCC, I have more expenses than usual, like needing to pay for new scrubs and shoes for pinning day, a dress for graduation, NCBON application, background check, among other things. I'm glad that I'm able to help my family save some money. Also, this scholarship allows me to take the NCLEX sooner. Therefore, I am going to be able to start my nursing career in my desired unit right away."
