October is Manufacturing Month and we are highlighting Metallica Scholars embarking on these incredible careers. Cheick Oumar Konate is a student in the Aviation Manufacturing program at Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC), a program that prepares students for aircraft maintenance and related fields.
Cheick came to the U.S. with the dream of gaining an education that was out of reach in his home country. After learning English at GTCC, he discovered the aviation program and quickly excelled.
The Metallica Scholarship enables Cheick to focus on his studies and pursue his ambition of becoming an aviation engineer, with a strong desire to one day help other students achieve their goals.
