Conner - West Georgia Technical College
After working full-time as a freight broker and experiencing the industry's instability, Conner realized he needed a more reliable, hands-on career. Inspired by his father’s work as an electrician, he enrolled in the Electrical Systems program at [WGTC].
With the support of his #MetallicaScholars funding, which provided the tools and encouragement, Connor took advantage of the real-world experience he gained in both the classroom and the lab, leading to a valuable opportunity to work with BUCKS Electric. On the job, he learned practical skills like wiring, reading schematics, running pipe, and preparing job sites, and developed strong time management and communication skills.
With long-term goals of homeownership and supporting a family, Conner is building a strong foundation for a stable career as a skilled electrician!
