Remar - Itawamba Community College

As part of our celebration of Manufacturing Month, we are shining the spotlight on Metallica Scholars who are pursuing careers in the field. Meet Remar Talley, a student in Itawamba Community College’s Precision Machining program. Remar is set to graduate at the end of July. A native of Nettleton, Mississippi, a small rural town near the college, Remar exemplifies the kind of hardworking, career-focused individual that the Metallica Scholars Initiative is designed to support.
Thanks partly to the scholarship, Remar will soon begin a machining internship with General Atomics, a respected government contractor with local operations. He expressed deep gratitude for the support.
The funds from this scholarship will be used to provide me with proper workshop footwear, clothing, and tools needed to further my career.”
This investment in Remar's future will not only help him enter the workforce with confidence but also strengthen the pipeline of skilled professionals in Mississippi’s manufacturing sector.
