Shane Hunting chose to pursue a career in machining because he likes to make things. That’s why he’s been developing his manufacturing skills and abilities in FRCC’s precision machining program.
“I have finally found my passion. I love machining. The skills we are learning in this course are practical, interesting, and challenging. Being able to take a drawing and turn it into a physical part is a fantastic skillset and feels great.”
Shane says the support of the Metallica scholarship has allowed him to dedicate more of his focus to school.
“The biggest benefit this Metallica scholarship has provided for me is it has given me the opportunity to take chances that I wouldn’t normally be able to. It gives me the chance to learn at work and at school without having to worry so much about finances. Without the Metallica scholarship, I would not have had the options or possibilities available to me that I do—and I am grateful for the support that has been provided to me.”
