Terry - Guilford Technical Community College
Terry is in the Aviation Technology program at Guilford Technical Community College in South Carolina. He received funding as a Metallica Scholar to help cover tuition and course materials, citing the financial assistance as a factor in his academic success.
“I have always been passionate about learning and have dreamed of one day owning my own aircraft and becoming a pilot. My long-term goals include earning my certifications and degrees in aviation manufacturing and, afterwards, transferring to a four-year university. I eventually wish to go to pilot school. I am confident that with these degrees and certifications, I will have the knowledge and skills to live a long life and enjoy a prosperous career.”
Earlier this year, Terry was hired by Honda Aircraft Company, Inc. He shared this heartfelt note of thanks:

My family is diverse and large, We span from Maine to Florida to even Kenya. My mother always told me and my siblings that education is the key to social mobility, As a result, I was determined to pursue a higher education to better my life.
Attending Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) is a huge step forward. Your scholarship will help me pay for my tuition and course materials, and will make it much easier for me to reach my educational and career goals.
